Well when we got the car back to the house I was hoping to get it running pretty quickly, unfortunatly twas not to be!! On taking off the cam cover I could see 4 of the lifters had sheared in half.... DOH!!!
That meant the hunt was on, I needed a new engine... sharpish!! I hunted ebay for over a month and nearly bought a 1.2 for an Astra estate, luckily I went onto a vauxhall forum moaning about my problems which is when I spoke to a very nice guy called Al. He had just swapped out his 1.4 for a 2.0 and said if I went up to Birmingham I could have the 1.4.... woooohooooo!!!
So 4 hours driving later I was the proud owner of new engine. Now all that was needed was to swop them over!
